Meet the Founders
Clare Johnson PhD
Clare first developed the idea for ClarifyAI when working on her PhD ‘Understanding academic integrity and plagiarism in the digital age: Can digital forensics techniques help prevent and detect academic misconduct?’.Frustrated by work presented for assessment that was clearly not written by the student submitting it, she combined her deep knowledge of academic integrity in a university environment and her extensive background in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security to explore digital artefacts that indicate academic misconduct.Clare’s mission is now to support educators in identifying academic misconduct such as plagiarism, contract cheating and un-documented use of artificial intelligence, through ClarifyAI.
Chris Rhodes
Chris has worked in software and digital product development for 15 years, including running his own software development agency.Chris met Clare serendipitously and immediately saw the potential in ClarifyAI.Chris brings expertise in tech strategy and development best practice, as well as general experience growing and running a business.
